#IndvsEng test series: Extra degree to Cricket with data analysis

India vs England test series turned out to be crazy when you think about numbers associated with it. After the first test, Trent Bridge turned out to be a batting paradise for the tailendars amongst all the grounds in England. Then the historic Lord’s win saw an uncanny resemblance to the last Indian win at Lord’s. And then, the next post spoke about the unattractive opening partnership and dethroning of India as creators of spin wizards. Finally, this post summed up this series for the both the teams. Fame for England, Shame on India!

This post is a consolidated version of all the 4 posts which makes everyone look at the bigger picture for the test series and how exciting the data crunching is for cricket.

1. Did you know: The Last Hurdle at Trent Bridge, Nottingham

This post dealt with how astonishingly only Trent Bridge, Nottingham is the ground where tailendars make hay with their batting skills.

2. Spot the difference – 28 years apart!

To be frank, I have never found such a match with so many coincidences in it. The historic win surely sent a strong message to England that India is here to dominate and not to scrape through the series.

Apart from the above, both the Binnys were near their 30s when they played the respective match.

3. India oustside Sub-Continent: A recipe for disaster

This post spoke about the unattractive opening partnership and the dethroning of India as creators of spin wizards. Both have been a worry for India for a while and incidentally a reason for India's disastrous performance overseas in the recent years.

4. Curtains on #IndvsEng series – Fame and Shame

Alas! It was difficult to be an Indian fan when the final test was over again in 3 days. To be happy that the nightmare is finally over or to be depressed to see this day for Indian cricket, everyone was in a fix. Finally, the curtains on the test series fell with the fame and shame post.

I do not know when we will get to witness such a test series which has so much history in terms of data. I hope the tour Down Under towards the end of the year would not disappoint.
